L&DCC have contacted the CEC Head of Service, Roads & Infrastructure to request urgent inspection and remedial action on worn-out carriageway markings along the A701 arterial corridor from Howden Hall Road, through Liberton Brae, Liberton Road, Craigmillar Park to Minto Street.
27 Aug : An immediate response from the Council’s Road Operations Unit acknowledges this city-wide problem. A rolling road marking reinstatement programme is planned. However, severe fiscal constraints mean this will possibly be a five -year project. The early focus will be on the A90, Queensferry Road and A8 corridor. That said, Minto Street. Craigmillar Park, a section of Liberton Brae and a section of Howden Hall Road will be part of the 2026/27 capital resurfacing (and re-marking) programme.
